I’m a parent too.
When “kids” leave for college, parents often worry about what happens when there is a health concern. While some primary care providers are readily available, others may be harder to reach, require in-person visits, or are not licensed to provide care across state lines. This can create challenges for getting timely care or even refills of regular medications.
Especially for students on their own for the first time, accessing trusted care can feel overwhelming. While there are many telehealth solutions out there - some even aimed at college students - these platforms can feel impersonal with a different provider every time.
I’m here to do something different. I’ll have an initial visit to get to know my patient, their medical history, and where they are headed. We’ll review the options on and near campus for pharmacies and in-person care. Then, when they reach out to me, I’ll have the context and background to provide appropriate and efficient care.
Data show that this age group is increasingly turning to AI for answers to both basic and complicated medical questions. My practice is intended to be as easy as a chat, but they get a real person: a board-certified physician with whom they can develop a relationship over time and who can provide answers, reassurance, and treatment.
